Prime Minister receives Georgian ambassador
The head of government received newly appointed Georgian Ambassador to Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili.
Welcoming the guest to the Office of Government and congratulating him on appointment, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan expressed appreciation of embassy activities in the two countries considering that Armenian and Georgian ambassadors deal with specific problems of concern to our citizens. “We hold the Georgian people in deep respect and are delighted that bilateral relations are fostered and upheld on highest political level,” Tigran Sargsyan noted.
Thankful for a warm welcome extended to him, Ambassador Sharmanashvili said that as upheld on the part of the two presidents, the centuries-old ties of friendship between our two peoples compel the ambassadors to endeavor toward their furtherance.
The interlocutors went on to discuss the status of those arrangements reached during Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri’s recent visit to Armenia which bore on the formation of a common customs service, as well as on some procedures relating to cross-border motor traffic, in particular.
The head of government highlighted several topics of mutual interest to be part of the agenda of the upcoming 9th sitting of the intergovernmental commission.
