Investing businessmen awarded with Premier’s commemorative medals
A ceremony of awarding those businessmen having contributed to the development of Armenia's economy was held at the Office of Government. In accordance with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s decision, on May 1 – Labor Day – the following companies were awarded with the Prime Minister’s commemorative medals for export-oriented investments carried out in 2010: Astra CJSC, Saranist Ltd, Likvor CJSC, Armenmotor CJSC, Arpimed Ltd, Ararat Food Combine Ltd and Armenian Molybdenum Production Ltd.
On behalf of the Government of Republic Armenia, Tigran Sargsyan thanked and congratulated the businessmen for valuable contribution to the development of Armenia’s economy. H stated in part: “The executives of those companies who will get today these high awards stand out in that during the past 3 years have managed to effectively organize the activities of their companies, cope with the existing bottlenecks, carry out innovational projects and cooperate with the Government.”
According to the Prime Minister, the projects implemented over the last 3 years may set an example to other companies in terms of innovational approaches.
Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Businessmen Arsen Kazaryan noted that the target companies have initiated new promising export-oriented projects.
Concerning the selection of eligible enterprises, the Prime Minister emphasized: “We have analyzed the state of affairs in each enterprise, their performance and those investments carried out for the past 3 years and came to the conclusion that the selected entities boasted quite a good performance. The steps taken so far indicate that they may achieve improved export performance in the years ahead.
I wish to thank you for your deep belief in the government leading to higher export levels. There were import-substituting programs which proved quite successful. We have managed to produce high-quality commodities in Armenia based on our resource capacity and rich traditions. Thank you once again for all you have done.”
Director of ARKA news agency Konstantin Petrosov, too, was awarded with the Premier’s commemorative medal for active and all-comprehensive media coverage of economic development-related issues.
Thanking the Prime Minister for the high awards, the nominees said that the trust of the government prompts them to ever new achievements.
