Tigran Sargsyan Attends Presentation of Who Cares Super-band’s CD
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended the presentation of a CD and a clip released under the Rock Aid Armenia project by the Who Cares of world-famous rock artists Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi.
Extending deep appreciation to the artists and all those who contributed to the event for charity and generosity, the Prime Minister thanked them for continued cooperation. Welcoming the rock stars’ concerts in Armenia, Tigran Sargsyan expressed belief that they would promote a rock culture in our country. Touching on the “Rock against Genocide” festival, the Premier made a point of the gala concert to be held in Yerevan in 2015, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Genocide of Armenians.
Those present were able to watch extracts from the November, 2009 press conference of Deep Purple soloist Ian Gillan and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi where the musicians pledged to donate the whole sum of new songs’ receipts for the reconstruction of musical school N6 in Gyumri.
In attendance of the event, Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Dutoit advised that the school will be granted euro 15,000 on the part of his company.
Who Cares super-band features John Lord from Deep Purple, Micco Lindstrom from Him and ex-Metallica Jason Newsted. Out of Mind and Holy Water hits are the highlights of the first CD. A 40 minute-long documentary is enclosed with the CD, dedicated to musical school N6 of Gyumri. Note that both the CD and the clip were produced free of charge.
