On the Day of Radio, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan called at Armenian public radio headquarters. The head of government met with the staff of public radio, talked to the journalists of “Radio news” to get acquainted with the problems and the development prospects of the Armenian radio.
APR Executive Director Armen Amiryan briefed the Prime Minister on the works done so far, those new approaches embraced by his organization and its technical possibilities. Tigran Sargsyan took part in Public Top Ten live radio show.
The Prime Minister said to have been witnessing radical changes in the proceedings of Public Radio over the last few years. “The Public Radio of Armenia has improved in quality over the past few years. There is more reference of topical issues and more criticism in its broadcasts.” Tigran Sargsyan appreciated Public Radio’s “sound criticism” which is quite useful.
The head of government next visited the Yerevan headquarters of Radio Liberty.
Note that this year the Armenian Public Radio and Radio Liberty mark their 85th and 60th anniversaries respectively.
