Tariffs Established for Notary Services
A cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Invalidating a previous decree on approval of services, the Government approved tariffs for paid notary services in Armenia. The new decision gives a detailed description of eligible services and tariffs. In particular, the wording of “especially difficult transactions” is removed for which a fee had been established to the amount 5-20 times as much as the minimal salary. The new decree stipulates that the fees to be charged will cover not only the examination and interpretation of all relevant documents, but also the provision of sample forms. From now on, the citizens in search of notary services will be provided with most favorable conditions, with limited possibilities for notaries to qualify services at their own discretion.
According to the Prime Minister, this is a step toward improving the quality of notary services in Armenia. “Unfortunately, the findings of our latest inspection are still far from being satisfactory: our citizens are dissatisfied with the services provided by notaries. We should address the situation as shortly as possible. Once again, I wish to call the attention of all heads of government departments to this circumstance. We continue monitoring services. I am pleased to state that our last week’s monitoring revealed positive shifts in the system of cadastre. The bureaucratic red tape is overcome, services have improved in quality and the citizens are pleased with these services. We should achieve the same result at notarial offices ».
The Government amended a previous decision to simplify vehicle registration procedures, as well as to give a legal decision to the problems available in this sphere. The amendment provides that irrespective of the place of registration of the vehicle or its owner, they shall be put on record in all administrative divisions.
The Government made a decision to acknowledge as a top priority and a prevailing public interest the general development plan of Yerevan city as worked out jointly by the Town Hall of Yerevan and the Asian Development Bank.
The plan is aimed at easing downtown traffic in Yerevan by linking the Artashat and Ashtarak highways which ensure the capital’s connectivity with the provinces. Besides, the new speedway laid along the historical site of Karmir Blur will boost tourism.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan pointed out in this connection that the aforementioned agreement between the Town Hall of Yerevan and the Asian Development Bank should be signed as soon as possible to kick off the process recognized as top public interest.
