President of Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture at Government
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President of the Pontifical Council for Culture of the Vatican.
Welcoming the guests, Tigran Sargsyan made a boast of the current status of relationship with the Vatican considering that common Christian values are at the heart of bilateral ties.
Thanking the Prime Minister for reception, Cardinal Ravasi said that cultural dialog and cultural heritage are crucial to Vatican. In this context, he appreciated the pace of cooperation with the Armenian Culture Ministry.
The parties went on to exchange views on the significance and importance of Christian values in the modern world.
The head of government expressed gratitude for efficacious cooperation within the UNESCO framework. In this context, the government of Armenia was said to be highly appreciative of joint cultural events held in different formats – expositions, concerts of sacred music etc.
The need for continued cooperation was underscored both in terms of heritage conservation and cultural dialog.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister said to be hopeful that Cardinal Ravasi could get acquainted with Armenia’s rich historical-cultural heritage and that the planned meetings would get a follow-up in future.
