Prime Minister Visits “Rostselmash” Combine Plant
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited today Rostselmash combine plant on the sidelines of the 13th sitting of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
Accompanied by Deputy Governor of Rostov Region, RF Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Cherkezov and Director General of Rostselmash Valeri Maltsev, the head of government toured the laser and assembly shops getting acquainted with the manufacturing process and the plant’s output capacity.
A preliminary arrangement is already up with the management of Rostselmash on the lease of agricultural machinery against a relatively low 6% annual interest rate for a period of 7 years. Rostselmash is due to submit a finalized list of tariffs and delivery conditions within the coming week.
Strong with some 11 thousand jobs and exports toward 26 foreign countries, Rostselmash is currently producing 20 types of agricultural machinery. The factory has provided 974 combines to Armenia over the last 25 years. This enterprise is among the five largest world manufacturers of farm machinery and has subsidiaries in the USA, Canada, Europe, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Note that the Prime Minister of Armenia is also scheduled to meet with Russian co-chair of the intergovernmental commission, RF Minister of Transport Igor Levitin, after which the head of government will attend the sitting of the intergovernmental commission. The day will be concluded with the joint press conference of Tigran Sargsyan and Igor Levitin.
