Prime Minister: “High-quality services to be provided by Ashtarak passport bureau”
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited today the Ashtarak passport bureau by the Passport and Visa Department of the Republic of Armenia Police.
Following the reopening ceremony of the completely renovated and refurbished police division, accompanied by Chief of Police Alik Sargsyan, the Prime Minister toured the rebuild facilities getting acquainted with its working conditions and service capacity.
In addition to a new electronic terminal for receipt of passport services-related State duties, administrative fines and other payments, the division has been equipped with state-of-the-art computers to provide more civilized, effective and transparent services.
Instead of the formerly practiced constituency-based processing of applications, the attendants are currently providing swift and simplified services according to the principle of “hall” - from service desks separated with glass partitions and doors - to provide for work transparency.
As a result of the above-stated improvements, corruption risks will be reduced considerably to the benefit of service quality.
The project cost is AMD 11mn as funded under the extra-budgetary spending items of the Passport and Visa Department of RA Police.
Note that preparative work is currently underway for the new block of the Mashtots district passport bureau. That of Avan district is scheduled for extra-budgetary spending items-funded capital repairs in 2011.
