Information Technology Development Support Council
The Information Technology Development Support Council met at the Office of Government, chaired by head of council, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
On introducing the new council members as elected on a rotational basis, the chairperson proceeded to the agenda.
The meeting first heard a progress report concerning the previous sitting’s assignments, including the problems faced in implementing online tax account write-out procedures.
In this connection, the stakeholder representatives were told to take up the matter during the working group proceedings and come up with corresponding suggestions.
The meeting went on to discuss the incidences of stealing of cables, wires and other ingredients of communication infrastructures. The status of Premier’s standing instructions to Head of Police Alik Sargsyan was reported back by Deputy Head of Police Hovhannes Hunanyan. The Police was said to have drafted a set of amendments to the code on administrative offences in order to streamline the laws applicable to the sales of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The council next looked at the problems faced during the lease of State- and community-owned plots of land and facilities for communication purposes.
There have also been discussed customs-related legal issues concerning the conduct of electronic sales. An interagency commission will be set up under the Premier’s assignment to address the existing legislative gaps and submit recommendations within a two months’ period.
In conclusion, the council discussed school computerization-related questions. The Prime Minister reminded that earlier this year AMD 700mn was allocated to the Ministry of Education and Science to that effect. Internet connection and modern PCs were said available at this point in all the schools of Armenia.
