Serj Tankian Awarded With Prime Minister’s Medal
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today American-Armenian rock legend Serj Tankian at the Office of Government.
Greeting the guest, the Prime Minister said to be appreciative of rock celebrity’s visit in the context of support for rock music development in our country. Tigran Sargsyan advised that a rock association rallying a number of Armenian rock bands has been set up to promote rock music in Armenia.
Talking about the Rock against Genocide festival dated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the interlocutors touched upon the participation of world-famous rock bands and singers.
The head of government wished Serj Tankian robust health, strength and energy for the sake of his future projects.
In conclusion, Tigran Sargsyan awarded Serj Tankian with the Premier’s commemorative medal for significant personal contribution to the cause of Genocide acknowledgement and worldwide advocacy of rock music.
