State Commitments To Be Complied With In Full
A cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
November 1, 2011 was set as a deadline for submission of finalized lists of family members in Gyumri and Akhuryan towns applicable to such earthquake-hit homeless families as may be eligible under the State-supported disaster zone housing program.
In this connection, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated in part: “First of all, the target households should be given a reasonable advance notice of the proposed deadline. In turn, community heads should be aware that November 1 is established as a deadline for list finalization. The disaster-zone housing program is nearing completion as we run out of the funds earmarked to that end. Some 7 thousand homeless households were targeted by the program. As a result, we will comply with the commitments assumed before eligible families.”
To facilitate the import of over 40 items needed for the greenhouse facility operated by Ecotomato CJSC, the government amended a previous decree on the standing 3-year VAT holiday accorded to the company for equipment imports to the cost of AMD 300mn and over. Also, it was decided to extend the Temporary Import customs regime available to Rusal-Armenal CJSC and Gloria Clothing Factory CJSC up till September 8, 2012 and August 25, 2014 respectively.
Both of these companies have an export-bias that can boost investments and enhance domestic goods’ competitiveness in foreign markets. The Prime Minister was especially interested in the possibility of creating new jobs. In this context, Rusal-Armenal CJSC was said prepared to offer some 30 new jobs. As for the privilege available to Gloria Clothing Factory CJSC, Tigran Sargsyan said it was in full line with the government’s light industry development program effective for a year now.
The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources was told to draw on the earnings of the Ministry-affiliated public entities to settle the amount of AMD 184.307.296 million due to Hayrusgasard CJSC for energy consumed by vulnerable households in the period of April-June, 2011. “This is a significant relief for our vulnerable households. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has already drafted accurate and finalized lists of eligible gas consuming families who are supposed to get some AMD 1bn worth of support during the year in order to ease the burden of gas bills,” the head of government emphasized.
The meeting amended a set of four previous decrees regarding the release of yellow-grounded vehicle registration plates enabling thereby leasing companies to hand down the license numbers to would-be lease-holders upon transfer of ownership.
In conclusion, the Premier called on the cabinet members to take an active share in the proceedings of Homeland-Diaspora forum which is set to discuss pan-Armenian projects of nationwide importance.
