Prime Minister Welcomes China Economic and Social Council Vice-Chairman
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation headed by China Economic and Social Council Vice-Chairman Wang Gang.
Welcoming the top-ranking guest to the Office of Government, the Prime Minister said Armenia-Chinese relations have been on the upgrade recently. “We are taking an active share in the forums hosted by the Chinese side. Effective activities are carried out by the intergovernmental commission. I am pleased that the bilateral relations are expanding in all directions as evidenced by the closed ties of cooperation established between the Armenian Public Council and the China Economic and Social Council,” Tigran Sargsyan pointed out.
The head of government reminded that the Shansi-Nairit chloroprene producing joint venture is already operational in China. Willingness was said to have been expressed on either side to set up new joint ventures.
Thanking the Prime Minister for reception, Wang Gang said his country is keen on expanding ties in any field of activities proceeding from the solid basis of friendly ties.
Wang Gang was asked to forward to Chinese authorities Armenian Premier’s appreciation for continued multifaceted assistance to Armenia. Reminding that the rolling-stock of Armenia’s healthcare system has been replenished with China-make ambulances, Tigran Sargsyan advised that new Chinese buses are due to be commissioned in the system of public transport of Yerevan.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate the guest on Chinese Communist Party founding 90th anniversary. He went on to note that China is marking the jubilee strong with great economic achievements.
In turn, felicitating the people of Armenia on independence 20th anniversary, Wang Gang expressed hope that the further strengthening of bilateral relations would help promote development and prosperity in our country.
Note that a cooperation agreement is due to be signed between the Armenian Public Council and the China Economic and Social Council on September 19, 2011.
