“Ranchpar – 1” Pumping Station Rehabilitated And Re-Commissioned
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended the opening of “Ranchpar – 1” pumping station as rehabilitated under MCA-Armenia program. The opening ceremony was also attended by MCC Vice President Patrick Fine. Tigran Sargsyan toured the facility getting acquainted with the rehabilitation works.
Ranchpar - 1 pumping station irrigates 6,100 hectares of land, supplying irrigation water to some 10,000 water users in 23 communities of Ararat marz.
USD 5.5 million was allocated under the MCA-Armenia program for rehabilitation activities, including the upgrade of working mechanisms and buildings. A new dam has been erected inside the water collector.
The total cost of rehabilitated 17 pump stations in Ararat, Armavir, Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, and Syunik marzes is USD 42 million.
In addition, USD 19 million was allocated for the rehabilitation of Ararat Valley’s drainage system, including the clean-up of 470-km-long collectors, supposed to bring down the level of deep-soil waters. 50 deep wells have been built and renovated in the framework of drainage activities.
