Northern Avenue Hosts Farmer Day-Timed Fair-Tasting Event
On Farmer’s Day, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited Northern Avenue where a fair-tasting event was held on the occasion.
Accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, the Prime Minister walked round the stands getting acquainted with the products on display.
Addressing the media representatives, Tigran Sargsyan said that by holding events like this the government seeks to introduce and propagate the use of domestic products among the Armenian population.
“We can witness a healthy competition between communities in treating and accommodating customer wishes. We look forward to a nationwide festive mood and perhaps we have succeeded. Our purpose is to enable Yerevan-hosted broker-free sales of own produce by our farmers at the weekends,” Tigran Sargsyan said extending his congratulations on this nice occasion.
As decided by the government, every third Sunday of October will henceforth be marked as Farmer’s Day in Armenia. In this connection, various actions, fairs, exhibitions will be held in Yerevan and the provinces of the Republic of Armenia.
