Tigran Sargsyan Welcomes Igor Petryshenko
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today Igor Petryshenko, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Welcoming the guest, the Prime Minister prioritized the further development and reinforcement of bilateral ties of friendship, as well as implementation of new joint programs.
Conveying warm greetings on behalf of Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich, Igor Petryshenko briefed Tigran Sargsyan on the pace of bilateral programs and future activities.
Both sides noted that the current level of Armenia-Belarus trade turnover and the scope of joint programs fall short of the actual potential available between the two States. In this context, the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus informed that a regular sitting of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental committee is due in the first half of 2012, within the frame of which a business forum will be held to promote development of cooperation between the respective business circles and implementation of new programs.
Igor Petryshenko said they are ready to ensure favorable conditions for Armenian investors in Belarus. The parties also discussed issues relating to the development of inter-regional cooperation, farm produce processing, mechanical engineering and other areas of activity.
In conclusion, the Armenian Prime Minister stressed that everything should be done to provide progress in the development of bilateral relations.
