Armenia-Indian ITT Center Opened in Yerevan
Today, November 7, with the participation of RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Indian State Minister of Communication and Information Technology Sachin Pilot, an Armenian-Indian Information and Telecommunication Technology center opened at the Yerevan State University within the framework of the agreement signed between the governments of Armenia and India. The center aims to deepen bilateral cooperation in the ITT sphere and promote the development of ITT sphere specialists in the country, organize combined research projects, etc.
Congratulating on the opening of the center, the Prime Minister said that it will give new impetus to the ITT research works and implementation of educational programs. Noting that the professors of the center were trained in India and studied new methods of teaching, the Prime Minister pointed out that their experience will also be useful in the development works of Gyumri's techno-park. "The center will significantly contribute to the development of the ITT sphere and reinforcement of the Armenian-Indian relations and their further development," Tigran Sargsyan said.
The center has been equipped with PARAM mega-computer, which is the only one in the region. The Prime Minister said that it will first of all create unique opportunity for new research initiatives.
The center has been provided with necessary infrastructures, highly qualified experts and all the necessary computer devices.
The partner of the establishment and operation of the Center is the Yerevan State University. The Armenian office of the World Bank also supported the development works of the Center.
