The Prime Minister Met with the Participants of the International Academic Conference of Young Economist Students
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with the participants of the four-day international academic conference of young economist students. The conference is entitled "Ethics and Business in the 21st Century (the influence and consequences of the Global Financial Crisis)". The Head of the Government, welcoming the participants of the sitting, answered their question related to Armenian ideas on ethics and business, its international model and efficiency.
Speaking about the business ethics of Armenia, the Prime Minister noted they were formed during the last decade. The Central Bank has set up a commission, which should control the internal ethics of the Bank. Similar rules have also been defined by the Manufactures Association, the judicial system and other departments.
Referring to the Armenian reality, Tirgan Sargsyan said, “Armenia is now in a transitional phase and it applies not only the ethical rules. We have a more profound problem, which is the formation of a value system. There is a big difference between our declared value system and the value system used by the society.”
The academic conference was organized by Yerevan State University, Armenian State University of Economics, and National Student Association of Armenia. Sixty students and aspirants took part in the event, of whom 26 from 11 foreign countries – Russia, the USA, Ukraine, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Norway, Romania, Portugal, Greece and Georgia. The main topic of the participants of the academic conference was the economic issues of the ever-changing world.
