Tigran Sargsyan Meets With Karel De Gucht

On the sidelines of his Brussels visit, Prime Minister met on December 5 with EU Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht.

The agenda comprised as follows: the process of EU-Armenia trade and economic relations, including, in particular, the ongoing talks over the deep and comprehensive free trade agreement. The head of government briefed the EU Commissioner on the reforms underway in Armenia.
Noting that Armenia has complied in full with the pre-arranged action plan, Tigran Sargsyan said to be hopeful that early next year the European Commission may take a relevant decision on the launch of negotiations over said deep and comprehensive free trade agreement.

The meeting with Karel De Gucht came shortly after the Premier’s interview with the Director-General of Development and Cooperation Department of the European Commission Fokion Fotiadis at which the parties looked at issues on possible micro-financial assistance to Armenia.
