Grant Available For Regulatory Guillotine Program
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The Government of the Republic of Armenia backed the proposal on signing a grant agreement between the Government and the Austrian Development Agency Ltd under which EUR 500,200 will be provided under the Regulatory Guillotine program.
In compliance with the presidential decree of December 1, 2011 on army call-up and demobilization campaign for first-group reserve medical officers, the government obliged the Minister of Defense to ensure recruitment of 58 first-group medical officers under 35 by late December, 2011, establishing a two-year term for subsequent army service. At the same time, demobilized will be those medical officers who have completed their mandatory military service in the armed forces.
To ensure the reconstruction of Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan border checkpoints, the meeting decided to allocate over 305, 355 million drams for the purchase of immovable assets belonging to Armenian citizens and legal entities on 22.5 hectares of land. To this end, the target zone was proclaimed as one of prevailing public interest.
The Executive approved the international open tender results for an additional funding facility under the World Bank-supported lifeline road project acknowledging thereby “Zangezurtransshin” and “Gavar Road Projects” open joint stock companies as the winners of the tender announced for Artsvakar District - Gavar - Karmirgyugh road segment project, and A.A.B. Project Ltd and Greater Moscow OJSC as the ones for Berd – Navour - Itsakar sector tender. The road sections are due to be complete by September, 2012.
Another decision was passed to endorse the outcome of the State budget-funded off-record negotiation procedure regarding the procurement of water supply pipes for Ashtarak-Talin road section under the 2nd tranche of North-South Transport Corridor. Hydroenergashin CJSC was acknowledged to be the selected participant.
The meeting next approved the design of ID cards and electronic passports containing biometric data.
Amending a previous decree, the government reorganized Erebouni State Medical College SNCO into Armenian-American Erebouni State Medical College SNCO given the fact that the educational institution has been cooperating with the US-based Nursery College of UCLA University since 1995 resulting in sizeable financial, economic and methodological investments made by the US partner.
The Cabinet went on to reorganize Tsaghkunk Secondary School SNCO into Tsaghkunk Open School Foundation. The concept of the project has been submitted by Century Foundation of Regional Development and Competitiveness which has sponsored the school’s modernization since 2005. The decision seeks to create a new model of school management implying increased amounts of extra-budgetary funding.
The meeting decided to allocate to “Yerevan State conservatory after Komitas” and “Spitak High School” State non-commercial entities AMD 43.5mn and 9.8mn respectively for completion of needed repairs and organization of academic activities.
In conclusion, the meeting decided to earmark AMD 60,947.500 to the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs for distribution of cash prizes to such Armenian athletes, coaches, doctors and sports organizations - winners of Olympic Games and World and European championships.
