European Union Seeks Enhanced Relationship With Armenia
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received newly appointed head of EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea.
The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on appointment: “We are interested in the speedy development of EU-Armenia relations. 2011 was a breakthrough year in this respect. We were able to overrun and outstrip the national program targets,” the Prime Minister said.
Noting that the European Union hails Armenia’s achievements, Ambassador Hristean said the coming year will be saturated with different actions. He stressed that the EU seeks enhanced relationship with Armenia in assisting our country with the ongoing reforms.
The parties took the time to discuss the launch of deep and comprehensive free trade arrangement talks, visa regime facilitation- and customs checkpoint modernization-related issues, as well as other topics of mutual concern.
