Civil Service Foundations To Be Strengthened In Armenia
On the 10th anniversary of Armenia’s civil service, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in a gala event held at the Guest House of Government.
Congratulating civil servants on the jubilee, Tigran Sargsyan said sizeable work has been done so far to build up the Armenian statehood using the institute of civil service in addition to other resources.
“Administering public services and providing a bridge between the State and society, civil servants’ high ranking is important to any State. This means that we should create such conditions as may help civil our servants provide premium-quality services to the population. We have built up a solid framework for the emerging institute of civil service in line with the European standards,” the Prime Minister said.
The head of government pointed out that high-quality staff should be engaged in the civil service. In this context, Tigran Sargsyan highlighted the need for setting up training facilities for civil servants and protecting them against political changes. Civil servants should be confident that they would continue in office regardless of political settings.
Concerning the civil servants’ welfare status, the Prime Minister reminded that for the first time a social security package has been introduced in our country covering health insurance, tuition fees, mortgage interest, as well as the cost of holidays spent in Armenia and in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
”I am confident that we can further strengthen the foundations necessary for a sustainable civil service,” Tigran Sargsyan noted.
On the 10th anniversary of Armenia’s civil service, as well as for significant contribution to the development of this institute, a number of civil servants were presented with the Premier’s commemorative medals.
