Tigran Sargsyan Receives Head of RAP Political Board Mike Kharapyan

On February 2, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received head of Ramkavar Azatakan Party political board Mike Kharapyan and head of RAP Lebanon regional office Haroutune Yerkanyan.

Welcoming the Diaspora-based political figures, the Prime Minister stated in part: “We are interested in achieving all-Armenian unity. The Ministry of Diaspora was established in a bid to unite Armenians from around the world and assist them in dealing with such problems as may be addressed by the Armenian State.”

Thankful for reception, Mr, Kharapyan apologized for those baseless accusations made against the Premier by some irresponsible RAP members. “First and foremost, I wish to apologize for those groundless accusations voiced about you. We had a very stern conversation. Unfortunately, there are a few people encouraging such steps as everyone wants to become a prime minister,” Mike Kharapyan said.

The Prime Minister pointed out in this connection, “Anyone in power is well aware that they cannot expect a sweet life ahead as they may face all kinds of slanders and accusations, so I take it easy.”

Mr .Kharapyan went on to brief Tigran Sargsyan on his party’s upcoming programs, reiterating their willingness to cooperate with the Armenian authorities in reinvigorating the efforts aimed at preserving the Armenian identity.

The parties have touched upon the possibility of attracting potential investors from abroad and tackling the problems facing Lebanese and Syrian Armenians.
