PM Receives Newly Appointed UK Ambassadors
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received newly appointed UK Ambassadors to Armenia Mr. Jonathan James Aves and Mrs. Katherine Jane Leach.
Congratulating the Ambassadors on the startup of their diplomatic mission in our country, the Prime Minister assured of Armenia’s interest in deepening its relationship with Great Britain.
“Your efforts are crucial in many respects. First of all, it is important for the British diplomacy to provide for a balanced approach in the region. We lack in oil, but we have many other assets, both valuable and crucial. First of all, I mean the human capital which we rely on. That is why we are prioritizing the development of information technologies,” the Premier said adding that investors from the United Kingdom are expected to find economic interest in Armenia to give new impetus to bilateral exchanges.
In turn, Mrs. Katherine Jane Leach expressed confidence that the two ambassadors’ efforts may usher in a new exciting era in UK-Armenia relations. Several British companies were said keen on making investments in the mining and IT sectors, in particular.
The parties also touched on Armenia’s economic development policy, intercultural relations and EU-Armenia ties.
