By the RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s decision, Armen Alaverdyan has been relieved of the office of Deputy Head of the State Revenue Committee adjunct to the Government of the Republic of Armenia and has been appointed First Deputy Head of the State Revenue Committee adjunct to the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

Armen Alaverdyan was born in 1958, October 9, in the village of Yeranos, Martuni region. In 1976 he graduated from the No. 1 secondary school of Charentsavan. In 1980 graduated from Faculty of Planning Economy of Yerevan State Institute of National Economy, in 1986 got the Master’s degree of the Yerevan State University. In 1988 Armen Alaverdyan defended his PhD thesis entitled “The theoretical bases of the quality of the product and the economic mechanisms of its growth”.
Up to 1990 professed at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, Department of Political Economy, as an assistant professor, senior lecturer and associate professor. In 1990-1991 worked in the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations as a senior specialist and in 1991-1992 as a head of the department of the State Tax Inspectorate.
In 1992-1994 had the position of the Deputy Head of the Department of Methodology, then the position of the Head of the Department, in 1995-1999 was Deputy Head of the State Tax Inspectorate. In 1999-2000 Alaverdyan was a Deputy Minister of Revenue and in 2000-2008 the Deputy Head of RA State Tax Service.
In 2008-2012 had the position of the Vice-President of the State Revenue Committee. On February 9, 2012, was appointed First Deputy Head of the State Revenue Committee.
Armen Alaverdyan is a first class adviser to the State Tax Service, author of more than 20 books and scholarly articles. As an authorized representative of the RA Parliament, he has presented dozens of laws. Was awarded with ‘Anania Shirakatsi’ medal.
