ADA Governing Council Holds Meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Armenian Development Agency CJSC Governing Council held today a regular meeting in the Office of Government.
ADA Director General Robert Haroutunyan presented the annual report of activities for 2011. In particular, he touched upon the programs aimed at attracting investments and promoting exports, as well as on the changes made to the Agency in the frame of structural reform.
He advised that foreign direct investments amounted to about AMD 6bn (construction, renewable energy and industry), exports to nearly AMD 3.9bn (food industry, stone processing etc.)in the period under review. Various business forums and exhibitions were held in addition to information assistance-related activities. The meeting approved the report.
The Council also discussed issues relating to the ways of implementing the government’s export-oriented industrial strategy. Summing up the proposals made at the meeting, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed the ADA Director General to develop and submit a program of action to implement the Strategy in 2012.
In conclusion, the meeting approved the Agency’s program of activities and the estimate of costs for the year 2012.
