PM Awards USSR People’s Artist Regimatas Adomaitis
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the delegation of Lithuania who are in Armenia to attend the 10th ArmMONO international theatrical festival. The delegation included Deputy Minister of Culture Devidas Stanponkus, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture Nomeda Zenkene, USSR People's Artist Regimantas Adomaitis. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia Giedrius Apuokas.
Welcoming the guests, the head of government noted: “Regimantas Adomaitis is a legendary man in Armenia. Everybody knows him very well in our country. There is a special connection between you and Armenia, especially in the field of culture, cinematography and theatrical art. You may know that many cultural norms are transmitted through the cinema and as seen from this perspective, you are a friendly figure in Armenia. It is a great pleasure to host you in our country.”
The parties have discussed a broad range of bilateral cultural cooperation-related issues, including the ongoing projects. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of the agreement on cultural cooperation as signed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. The interlocutors exchanged views on the democratic processes underway in the two countries, including the buildup of civil society.
On his 75th birthday anniversary and for valuable services to the world and Lithuanian movie art Regimantas Adomaitis was presented with the Premier’s commemorative medal.

On February 29 - March 5, 2012, Yerevan will host the 10th ArmMONO international festival as organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Union of Theatrical Figures, as well as the Sayat-Nova and Vahagn Awards Center NGO.
A Lithuanian delegation is due to attend the event as the “Lithuanian” program is the feature of this 10th edition of the festival. USSR People’s Artist Regimantas Adomaitis will present his creative path and will appear with monologues at the Russian Drama Theater after K. Stanislavsky. The festival features special guests from Germany, Serbia, Poland and Russia.
