The State Assists Servicemen To Enter Educational Institutions
Accompanied by Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with the servicemen of one of Yerevan’s military units to brief them on the government’s new educational program which seeks to develop professional skills and knowledge so that to prepare the army leavers to enter universities, primary and secondary vocational schools and colleges.
“We will help you understand your educational needs before the time you leave the army. Together, we should ascertain what you want to be engaged in after the military service. The State will stand by those servicemen who wish to get advanced learning at a higher educational institution,” the Premier said.
Preparatory work among servicemen will be carried out by post-graduate students, holders of Master’s decree and young lecturers from the Armenian State Pedagogical University and six other educational institutions.
“Our goal is to ensure that any household with a son in army may be convinced that not only does the State undertake to provide their children with normal service conditions, but it also cares for their children’s educational needs. Should you be seeking short-term training courses in search of a job, the State will assist you with this task,” Tigran Sargsyan stated.
Note that for the time being, the program is a pilot one and will be tested in two military units.
