Tigran Sargsyan Receives Head of French Competitive Agency
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received French competition authority chairman Bruno Laser.
Welcoming the guest Tigran Sargsyan said: “Today, the streamlining and control of economic competition is a top priority in Armenia. In recent years, we significantly strengthened the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition adopting laws that expanded the powers of this body. In this respect, your experience and knowledge will be extremely useful for us.”
The chairman of the French competition authority complimented the government for its steps to expand the competition authority’s powers and ensure a favorable competitive environment. Bruno Laser pledged support with the reform of competition legislation, buildup of institutional capacity for the State Commission on Protection of Economic Competition, as well as with the design of an economic competition policy.
Tigran Sargsyan expressed confidence that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the competition authorities of Armenia and France will help improve the activities of Armenia’s State Commission on Protection of Economic Competition.
The parties have discussed a wide range of issues relating to the promotion of economic competition policy.
