Bavaria Justice System Representatives Hosted In Government
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Bavaria Deputy Minister of Justice Dr. Helmut Palder and Prosecutor-General of Munich Dr. Christoph Strötz who arrived in Armenia on March 31 at the invitation of Armenian Prosecutor-General Aghvan Hovsepyan.
Greeting the guests, the head of government said: “We are pleased that the Office of Prosecutor-General of Armenia entertains such valuable linkages with their counterparts from Bavaria as part of international cooperation. Our country is implementing reforms in the field of law enforcement and prosecution and, as seen from this perspective, cross-country cooperation and international know-how may serve us a lot.”
Thanking the Premier for reception, Dr. Christoph Shtreutz said to have familiarized with Armenia’s judiciary reform as they called at the Ministry of Justice and the Office of Prosecutor-General as part of this visit. He advised that the delegation had likewise visited the Genocide Memorial of Tsitsernakaberd to pay tribute to Genocide victims.
Coming down to cooperation opportunities, the parties looked into the possibility of conducting training programs for Armenian judges and public prosecutors. Dr. Helmut Palder said professional training and sound management of human resources are deemed to be the pledge of success in his country. In this context, Tigran Sargsyan highlighted the need for learning the German expertise. The guests expressed readiness to assist their Armenian counterparts through shared know-how.
The German delegation will return to Germany on April 5.
