Construction Contract Signed
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation from Spanish Corsan Corviam Construction S.A., led by company President Francisco Garcia Martin.
Note that at its April 26 sitting, the Cabinet approved the outcome of the open international tender announced in the framework of a loan agreement signed between the Government and the Asian Development Bank under the North-South Road Corridor project to a total cost of USD 250mn, recognizing Corsan Corviam Construction S.A. Spanish company as the winner of the competition.
Greeting the guests, the Prime Minister said, “I am glad that the contract shall be signed at last. We have been waiting for two years and, as a result, have found a reliable and strategic partner in the person of the Asian Development Bank.”
Thankful for confidence, Francisco Garcia Martin said his team have considerable experience with sizeable projects, and is assuming with a sense of utmost responsibility the task of implementing one of Armenia’s largest projects.
Emphasizing the importance of building premium-quality roads in our country, Tigran Sargsyan expressed hope that the cooperation with the Spanish company will be effective.
Attended by the Prime Minister, a contract was next signed between the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Armenia and Corsan Corviam Construction S.A. The contract was signed by Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Artashes Avetisyan on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and by company head Francisco Garcia Martin on behalf of Corsan Corviam Construction S.A.
According to the contract, Corsan Corviam Construction S.A will implement road building and rehabilitation activities under the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program’s Tranche 1 (Yerevan-Ararat and Yerevan-Ashtarak) and Tranche 2 (Ashtarak-Talin) components.
