Last Year’s Economic Indices Overtopped
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
To begin with, the Prime Minister asked the Minister of Finance to make public the socio-economic development results for the first five months of 2012, which outstrip last year’s figures.
The Government decided to set aside a plot of land of 5.5 hectares belonging to Sevan town community within the boundaries of Sevan national park’s recreational area for the launch of new public beaches.
The experience of two similar facilities which were commissioned last year on presidential orders evidences that there is increased public interest for the new model of rest.
The new beaches offer equal conditions for free rest with additional infrastructures for tourism and new seasonal jobs available.
Amending a previous decree, the Government decided that the pedestrian crossings will henceforth be painted in yellow color, the parking-lots in red, while the marginal parts of roads or the traffic paths will be marked in blue and white or red and white respectively. The new road markings will be more visible to traffic participants.
Armenia’s National Olympic Committee was allocated AMD 92,826,700mn to provide for Armenia’s participation in the 30th Summer Olympic Games of London in July-August, 2012. AMD 5,853 was earmarked to ensure Armenia’s participation in the Paralympic Games of London in August-September, 2012.
According to another amendment approved at the meeting, 10 vocational educational institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in 2012, as well as 11 such establishments operational under the Ministry of Healthcare in 2013 will be handed over to the Ministry of Education and Science to ensure the pursuit of a common educational policy.
Another decree was amended to harmonize the activities of Marie Izmirlyan Orphanage SNCO with the type stipulated for care and protection institutions.
The orphanage will attend children up to 18 years of age suffering from central nervous system disorders, innate and acquired physical and mental problems, including the protection of their legitimate rights.
The meeting complied with the resignation applications submitted by Vayots-Dzor Marz Governor Sergei Bagratyan and Gegharkunik Marz Governor Nver Poghosyan.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan thanked them for the work done during the years in office.
