Tian Changchun Forwards Chinese State Council Speaker’s Congratulations To Prime Minister
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Armenia Tian Changchun.
The Ambassador forwarded a congratulatory message signed by President of the State Council of China Wen Jiabao on Tigran Sargsyan’s reappointment to the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and on the Republican Party’s victory in the latest parliamentary election.
The letter reads as follows:
“I am herewith extending to you my sincere congratulations and best wishes for your reappointment to the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
During the past two decades following the establishment of diplomatic ties between our two countries, Armenian-Chinese relations have been developing continuously, in a sound and sustained way. High-level contacts are being maintained, steadily deepened is the mutual political trust. The two sides assist each other in important matters of mutual concern, boasting serious achievements in trade turnover, infrastructure development, education and other areas. There are close ties of cooperation in international and regional issues. Dynamically developing cooperation and the wealth of mutual understanding have strengthened the friendship between our two peoples, opening up new interests for bilateral contacts.
The Chinese Government attaches great importance to the Armenian-Chinese relations, and considers Armenia a great friend and good partner. Your Excellency, the Chinese side highly appreciates your great contribution to and assistance in the development of the Armenian-Chinese relations and the bilateral business environment.
As we mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian-Chinese diplomatic relations, I am ready to work with you to make every effort toward new achievements in Armenian-Chinese exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in all spheres.
I wish you robust health and all the best in your work.”

Thanking the Ambassador for congratulations, Tigran Sargsyan said to be supportive of his Chinese colleague’s remarks concerning the strengthening of Armenian-Chinese relations.
“Our bilateral ties of brotherhood and friendship have been upgraded in recent years. Armenia is interested in it. Our government will do everything to make this relationship ever stronger as they are in the best interest of the Armenian people,” the Prime Minister said.
“Despite the crisis, Armenia’s economy tends up backed by sustained political stability. Your government and the Republican Party of Armenia have been a long way toward this end. We look forward to your success,” Tian Changchun stated.
The Ambassador expressed confidence that the bilateral cooperation will be successfully developed in various spheres. Tian Changchun advised that efforts are underway toward the opening of a Chinese school in Yerevan, which is supposed to promote the teaching of Chinese language and culture in our country.
Tigran Sargsyan said a number of projects are being implemented in the economic, social, educational, humanitarian and other spheres. The head of government stressed the importance of developing and implementing new bilateral projects.
The Prime Minister appreciated the Chinese Government’s continued support in various fields, noting that it is crucial to our country and our people.
