Tigran Sargsyan Welcomes Australian Premier’s Special Envoy

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Australian Prime Minister’s special envoy for Eastern Europe, the Balkans and Caucasus Russell Trood.

“Armenia is interested in the development and deepening of relations between Armenia and Australia,” Tigran Sargsyan said, stressing the importance of keeping in touch in matters of mutual support in bilateral and multilateral formats.

The guest forwarded Australian government’s request to support his country’s bid for UN Security Council membership in 2013-2014.

The Prime Minister promised to consider the matter and communicate Armenia’s position before the vote.

The parties went on to discuss mutual support in various international organizations, as well as deepening of bilateral economic ties.
