Pan-Armenian Conference Of Experts In International Affairs And Political Scientists To Be Held In Yerevan
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan.
The government decided to hold a pan-Armenian conference of experts in international affairs and political scientists in Yerevan on November 19-20, 2012, and approved the program of the forum.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss the current problems faced in Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora, propose joint programs and review issues relating to the professional education of youth.
The government approved two bills to amend the “National Assembly Rules and Procedures” Republic of Armenian law and the Family Code of the Republic of Armenia. The latter needs amending due to the necessity of promoting gender equality. While the current law sets seventeen and eighteen years of age as a threshold for marriage for women and men respectively, the new law provides that eighteen years shall be deemed as the legitimate threshold for both sexes.
The government amended a previous decree numbered 954-N, dated May 26, 2006 “On approval of technical specifications for Armenian brandy spirits,” approved the 2012 quotas for the Central Electoral Commission’s cash expenditures from State budget funds and credit card accounts.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Administration of Lori Marz of Armenia were provided a relevant amount for a pilot program on evaluation of educational needs of children aged 16-18 from vulnerable households.
The meeting next approved the “Improved evaluation of current seismic risk” program, appointing the Ministry of Emergency Situations to be responsible for program implementation, established a procedure for the rotation of rescue service staff.
The meeting amended the organizational structure of the apparatus of the State Revenue Committee by the Government of Armenia. As part of the ongoing tax authority reform, which implies optimization of the number of regional tax inspectorates, the Aparan, Talina, Meghri, Noyemberyan, Tashir, Tumanyan offices were reorganized and merged with the central tax authorities of corresponding marzes. Another decision was passed to invalidate Government Decree N1173-N, dated December 30, 2010 “On submission of information by tax authorities regarding taxpayer transactions for supply of natural gas, electricity, irrigation and drinking water to consumers.”
To harmonize with the Armenian law on lotteries, the government amended its previous decree numbered 18-N of January 12, 2012 “On approval of questionnaire to verify compliance with the licensing terms and conditions for lotteries, bonus games and gambling houses, carried out by the Ministry of Finance, to monitor the conditions and requirements for licensing. According to the amendment, the lottery results will be published on the official website of public notifications of the Republic of Armenia at www.azdarar.am.
