Tigran Sargsyan, Sergey Naryshkin Discuss Armenia-Russia Strategic Cooperation-Related Agenda
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation headed by RF Federal Assembly State Duma Chairman Sergey Naryshkin.
”Meetings like this provide a good opportunity to discuss important issues, the principles behind the Armenian-Russian cooperation, our joint vision of the future and a range of issues bearing on our cooperation agenda,” Tigran Sargsyan said.
As to the ways of boosting the Armenian-Russian strategic relations, Tigran Sargsyan highlighted the efforts aimed at diversification of economic ties. In this context, the head of government advised that the governments of Armenia and Russia are currently working on the new draft of strategic cooperation program in the social and economic fields to cover all areas of cooperation, as well as the joint programs and targets envisaged by 2020.
Thanking Tigran Sargsyan for reception, Sergei Naryshkin appreciated the strategic partnership between Russia and Armenia, featured by bilateral trade and economic relations.
“We are proud to be the main economic partner of Armenia. Parliamentarians on both sides will do everything to expand and further develop economic ties between Armenia and Russia,” the State Duma speaker noted.
Sergei Naryshkin welcomed the initiative to develop a new program of cooperation between the governments of Armenia and Russia, and expressed willingness to assist with the ongoing work.
The interlocutors touched upon the integration processes underway in the frame of the Eurasian Economic Union, the furtherance of interegional cooperation, the possibility of attracting additional investments and the free economic zones being established in Armenia.
