Citizens in Emergency Situations Will Have the Privilege of Not Paying Stamp Duty
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Given the military situation in Syria and the possible political developments, as well as the fates of about 100 thousands endangered Armenians in Syria, RA Government is taking urgent measures to ensure the security of our compatriots and organize their return to Armenia. In today’s session the Executive approved the bill on making amendment to the RA law “On Stamp Duty”, which suggests that foreign citizens of Armenian origin, whose country of permanent residence is in a state of emergency which threatens the live or health of citizens, should be freed from having to pay a stamp duty for the extension of their entry visa to Armenia. The bill will be presented to the National Assembly in the prescribed manner. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan explained, “If emergency situations are created, which are not to blame on our compatriots, and if they are unable to maintain formal procedures, then we free them from penalties and fines, creating more comfortable conditions for them to solve their problems, staying in their Homeland”.
The Cabinet approved the distribution list of the first reproduction seeds for 2012 autumn sowing, within the framework of 2010-2012 seed growing and seed producing development program in Armenia. The Minister of Agriculture was assigned to organize the purchase of 1000 tons of seeds through the beneficiaries involved in “Seed Agency” SNCO and, with the returning 1200 tons of seeds, allocate the approved quantities to the regional administrations, signing the corresponding contracts. According to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the state fully satisfies the applications from the regions.
The Government has set the order of financing the implementation activities of a number of road reconstruction works, according to which, the reconstruction of the following roads will be completed in 2012: H-184, M-3-Norashen-Sarchapat (Norashen - Sarchapat segment), the road in Teghut Village, Tavush region; “Youth” street in Vayk, the road connecting Hartagyugh community to Vanadzor-Gyumri highway, Bazmagyugh-Ghazaravan-Parpi road, H-290, M-5-Lernughi-Aygevan-m5 road.
By the Government’s decision Charentsavan No. 6 and Hrazdan No. 4 secondary schools will be fully reconstructed.
The Government allocated 137 million AMD to Vayots Dzor regional administration for the renovation of the bridge in Jermuk city, 15 million AMD to the Ministry of Urban Development for improvement and reconstruction of the surrounding areas of buildings NN25, 26, 33 and 34 of Shiraz Street, Maralik city and extended the deadline of asphalting works of Myasnikyan Street of Martuni city till October 1, 2012.
On September 1, according to the assignment of the Prime Minister and the already existing tradition, the members of the Government will visit a number of schools on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year.
