PM Participates in the Celebrations of the Emergency Worker’s Day
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in the opening of the new building and polyclinic of the Ministry of Emergency Situations No. 8 firefighting unit, within the framework of the festivities dedicated to the RA Emergency Worker’s Day. The Head of the Government, accompanied by the Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, walked around the facilities and got acquainted with the implemented work.
The newly-built firefighting unit of the Ministry of Emergency Satiations will serve Center and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts. The purpose of the new polyclinic is to provide the personnel of the Ministry, rescue officers and their families with medical care. The polyclinic will also carry out the annual prophylactic medical examinations of military personnel.
The Prime Minister was then introduced to the structure, mission and technical capabilities of the RA MES Crisis Management Center, after which the solemn session dedicated to the Emergency Worker’s day was held.
Prime Minister congratulated the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on their professional holiday on behalf of the RA Government and wished them efficient work. “Our nation keeps the works of the system in the center of its attention, which is due to that fact that the consequences of the earthquake in Spitak and other emergency situations are still fresh in our memories. It is understandable, that our nation is very sensitive and demanding to this issue. The President of the republic pays great attention to the problems of the system and the state makes efforts to modernize the system”, said Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The Prime Minister noted that there have been significant achievements in this area in the recent years, and the development works of the system will be continuous. “Measures of preventive nature, as well as the introduction of modern technology to the system are of prior importance. I am glad to state, that during the last years Armenia has come close to the best international standards in this field,” said Tigran Sargsyan.
A number of emergency workers of the system were awarded with the RA PM’s commemorative medal and diplomas for their professional readiness and the achievements during the performance of their duties.
