Viktor Ambartsumian International Prize to Be Granted

A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The RA Government has decided to allocate 200 thousand US dollars from its reserve fund for granting the Viktor Ambartsumian International Prize. “Phoenix” Foundation will allocate another 300 thousand US dollars: the total of 500 thousand US dollars will amount the sum of the prize. “Luys” Foundation will allocate 50 thousand US dollars to compensate for the cost of the award ceremony.
The Cabinet has decided to allocate about 7.5 million AMD to the Ministry of Education and Science, in order to properly organize the Syrian-Armenian children’s holidays in Armenia. Earlier the Executive had provided more than 19.5 million AMD to organize the holidays of 400 children. However, 426 children arrived in Armenia, and 148 of them stayed in the country for 20 days, as opposed to the expected 14 days. The issue was resolved by providing additional funds. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan expressed gratitude on behalf of the RA Government to all the organizations that have helped to host the Syrian children, organize their holidays, and ensure the participation in concerts and other cultural events, as well as to those who have allocated financial funding for this purpose.
In accordance with the RA law “On Income Tax” coming into force on January 1, 2013, employers must submit electronic registration application and personalized calculation every month, which should reflect the income paid to individuals and the estimated rate of the income tax. Considering the fact that for the law enforcement it is necessary to implement a public awareness and public education program, the Cabinet has established a schedule for the respective events, which also clarifies the activities and scope of responsibility of each of the departments. “We also plan to make budgetary allocations,” said the Prime Minister. “We agreed that we should give our citizens the opportunity to solve the problem of the electronic signature. The Ministries of Finance, Labor and Social Affairs and the State Revenue Committee have to do the calculations, based on which we will adopt a political decision to support our citizens; from January 1st, 2013, they should be able to submit their reports electronically.
It is necessary to present the logic of these events to the media, and make sure that our citizens are informed, especially when training courses must be organized in all the regions. From now on, this information should be available to the public,” said the Prime Minister.

The Executive agreed to allocate more than 125 million AMD from the funds accumulated in the special account opened in the name of the Yerevan Municipality to repair Titogradyan Street in Yerevan.
The Cabinet allowed the State History Museum of Armenia to gather and transfer to Yerevan immovable monuments of history and culture from all the RA provinces and territories in September, 2013. Ancient monuments, cross-stones, architectural details and fragments will be transferred to Yerevan to be displayed at the temporary exhibition, dedicated to the Independence of Armenia. After the exhibition, in September 2016, the exhibits will be returned to their original places.
The Cabinet allocated 150 million AMD to the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs for the implementation of the program of providing nominal pensions to the athletes and coaches of the RA national teams with top achievements in the Olympic Games and World and Europe championships.
The Executive approved the proposals of mutual defense and investment agreements between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of the Philippines, and the Republic of Armenia and the Commonwealth of Australia.
