Public Utility Regulatory Framework Being Improved
Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Economic Sphere’s Regulatory Reform Council met in the Office of Government.
Acting Director of Government Staff’s National Center for Streamlined Legislation Armen Yeghiazaryan presented a package of proposals related to public utilities, the telecommunications and energy sectors.
The proposals are aimed at the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC)-regulated licensing process, electricity connection deadlines, simplification and reduction in number of PSRC rulings and other decisions.
The legislative package has been designed taking into account the international experience. Upon passing of the package a series of legal acts will either be improved or recognized as invalid.
