Finalized 2013 State Budget Bill To Go To National Assembly
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The meeting approved the revised economic indicators of the budget bill which was submitted to the National Assembly on October 2, as well as the shortlist of recommendations and conclusions made during the latest debate.
The Minister of Finance was told to submit the finalized version and the shortlist to the Government Staff in order to send the documents to the National Assembly (at least 24 hours before the debate).
Minister of Emergency Situations ArmenYeritzyan reported his ministry’s compliance with tax obligations (Item 3).
Considering that the 9-month revenue target has been significantly exceeded by traffic police thanks to the recently introduced system of automatic control of traffic, the Cabinet decided to use a portion of the receipts for the progressive development of the aforementioned system. In particular, AMD1.3bn will be spent to get new equipment and AMD145mn - to cover maintenance and service costs.
The next 2 decisions are aimed at enhancing system efficiency within the Police Passport and Visa Department. The first one tends to clarify the Department’s citizenship terminating functions and timings, while the second decision simplifies the oath-taking procedure.
The government amended an earlier decision to bring to completion the program of heating systems in the capital city’s secondary, high and special schools. Two more school buildings will get central heating under this decision. “Thus, all the schools in Yerevan will be provided heating by yearend,” the Prime Minister stressed adding that the President’s directive will have been complied with in this way.
Redistributing the 2012 State budget, the Government amended a previous decree to provide 100 million and 12 million drams to the Ministry of Education and Science for transfer to the Youth Foundation of Armenia and Classical Music Support NGO respectively. The decision aims to improve the students’ learning and socio-economic status, as well as to promote spiritual and patriotic upbringing in the country.
The Executive made another redistribution to ensure that the construction of a 33-apartment residential building belonging to the Ministry of Defense is complete by this yearend in Balahovit.
The Government approved the proposal for signing a cultural, educational and scientific cooperation agreement between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Spain.
