Production of Buses to be Organized in Yerevan
A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The Government permitted the State Property Management Department to rent the movable and immovable properties located in Yerevan, Mikoyan 18, including buildings, stations, pavilions, water and sewage networks, cranes, etc, to “MED A. KGmbH” company for a rental period of 35 years. The decision established an annual rent of one million drams for the next seven years, which will be allocated to the state budget. According to the presented business plan, the tenant will have to organize production of large capacity vehicles (e.g. buses) on the provided area, by investing 7 million U.S. dollars in seven years. Reminding that the tenant’s application had been approved by the Government during one of its previous sittings, the Prime Minister said that this decision is a continuation of the previous one, allowing a quick launch of production of buses in Armenia.
The Government allocated 498 million drams to the RA National Security Service, for the improvement of the living conditions of RA National Security Service and RA State Police servicemen. The Prime Minister said that these decisions are adopted by the RA President’s instructions. During the meeting held by the President with the representatives of these agencies, it was considered important that the social conditions of the servicemen were also in the centre of attention of the state. “Receiving the President’s recommendations, we are taking our first step in solving the housing problems,” said the Prime Minister.
By the Government’s decision, 200 million drams was allocated to the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration, supporting the gasification of 29 apartment buildings in “Norashen” District, Ajapnyak. Another 100 million is allocated by Yerevan Municipality, and about a billion drams by ArmRusGasProm. Around 12 thousand people will benefit from the gasification. After completion of this program, the city will no longer have districts without gasification.
The Government gave the permission to donate a land of more than a thousand square kilometers, near St. John the Baptist Church, located in Kond district, Yerevan, to “Yerevan, My Love” foundations, to participate in the implementation of a charitable program. It is planned to build three buildings, one of which will be a center for children with hearing problems, the other is to be allocated for the needs of single mothers and children, and the third, as St. John the Baptist Church auxiliary building, will be provided to the church ministers and community needs. A similar program will be implemented near St. Sarkis Church. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that this is a state-private partnership program, in which the state’s participation has its substantial share. “Today we provide the foundation with an estate of 400 million drams market value for the implementation of the program. Besides, it is important to remember that the program was under the auspices of the President of Armenia, and due to it Armenian businessmen all around the world, including Russia, allocated financial means to the program. In other words, this is a program carried out with joint efforts,” added the Prime Minister.
About 30 other issues were discussed at the sitting.
