PM Gets Acquainted With Tumanyan Station Rehabilitation Work, Attends Second Inter-Community Festival-Dated Exposition
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan paid a working visit to Lori Marz to attend the re-commissioning of South Caucasus Railways’ Tumanyan station which has been completely refurbished recently. The Prime Minister took the railway to get to Tumanyan station from Vanadzor in order to get a first-hand view of the infrastructures in place.
Tumanyan station was renovated under an arrangement signed between Lori Marz administration and South Caucasus Railways. It is supposed to contribute to the development of railway communications in Lori Marz.
Starting February 16, Vanadzor-Gyumri railway service will be available with 600 dram fare, while minibuses charge 700-800 drams for the same route.
Great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan’s bust has been inaugurated at Tumanyan station.
Then the head of government attended the opening of the second inter-community festival of culture and the Art Expo theatrical competition award at Hovhannes Abelyan Drama Theater in Vanadzor. The awards went to a company from Abovyan town’s House of Culture, “Gift” theatrical company from Armavir Marz and a company representative of Vedi town’s musical school.
Tigran Sargsyan also attended the ceremony of unveiling a memorial plaque to “Horovel” Song and Dance Ensemble founder and artistic director Levon Sargsyan in Vanadzor. Levon Sargsyan directed the House of Culture in Vanadzor for about 40 years making a significant contribution to the cultural life of the town. Those present laid flowers at Levon Sargsyan’s memorial, paid tribute to his memory.
In conclusion, the Premier called at an exposition dedicated to the second inter-community cultural festival. The Prime Minister toured the stands and was introduced to award-winning works in different nominations.
