Government Increases the Assistance Provided to Agriculture
This year the farmers’ demand for diesel and nitrogenous fertilizers will be fully satisfied. RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan informed about this after the press conference held at the government’s press center. According to him, this year the government will noticeably increase the support shown to farmers.
Thus, for spring agricultural works 31,4 thousand tons of nitrogenous fertilizers and 17,5 million liters of diesel will be provided with prices cheaper than those at markets. Required quantity of fertilizer and diesel will also be provided for fall agricultural works.
“With this we were able to satisfy the demand submitted by the farmers from all the regions of the country,” said the Minister of Agriculture.
Besides, according to the minister, the process of providing agricultural loans will also be continued. He noted that the banks give loans with 14 percent, but agricultural economies receive these loans with only 10 percent and the remaining 4 percent is subsidized by the state. Loans provided to the 215 socially vulnerable communities are provided with 8 percent, the other 6 is subsidized by the state. “By the RA President’s instructions, these programs will be continuous,” said Sergo Karapetyan.
