Prime Minister Meets Members of European Parliament’s EU-Armenia Friendship Group
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met the members of European Parliament’s EU-Armenia Friendship Group, headed by team leader Eleni Theocharous. The Head of the Government welcomed the delegates’ visit to Armenia and expressed the hope that it will contribute to the further development and expansion of bilateral ties.
The parties discussed the economic situation in Armenia, the Armenian-Turkish relations, as well as issues related to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Answering the European deputies’ question, the Prime Minister said that Armenia is true to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict solution within the framework of OSCE Minsk Group and is willing to make consistent efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
The interlocutors also discussed the Syrian-Armenians’ issues and our country’s support and plans towards the latter. European MPs stressed the importance of the support shown to the Syrian immigrants in Armenia by international institutions and the governments of their countries and expressed willingness to contribute to that process.
