RA Draft Law on “Inspection Service” Discussed
Inspection Reform Coordination Council held its ninth meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
According to approved agenda, 6 checklist of the State Food Security Service of the Ministry of Agriculture, 19 checklists of the Market Surveillance Department of the Ministry of Economy, 12 checklists of the State Sanitary and Epidemiologic Inspection of the Ministry of Health and 2 checklists of the State Water Management Committee were submitted and approved at the meeting, as well as the risk-based inspections methodology of the State Water Management Committee and the Market Surveillance Department of the Ministry of Economy.
Another issue discussed at the meeting was the RA Draft Law on “Inspection Service”, which aims to increase the effectiveness of the system and at its optimization. It was noted that the draft version up for discussion contained recommendations made by a number of departments. A consultation was conducted regarding the issue, during which the council members expressed their observations on the advisability of adopting the document. Summing up, the Prime Minister said that law is aimed at the formation of institutional basis and specification of responsibility for the Ministry-Inspection cooperation.
The meeting also touched upon to the issue of making changes in the Government’s decree No. 594 – A of May 29, 2009, on “Organizing and Conducting Inspections”.
