PM Receives Newly Appointed Finnish Ambassador
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received newly appointed Ambassador of Finland Christer Mikhelson (headquartered in Helsinki).
Congratulating the Ambassador on the startup of his diplomatic mission, Tigran Sargsyan said Armenia is interested in the deepening and strengthening of relations with Finland.
“Our political ties boast high level of mutual understanding, therefore we should strengthen and expand exchanges in the economic sphere,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
In this context, the parties stressed the need to bring to successful completion the ongoing talks over the EU-Armenia association agreement and the deep and comprehensive free trade arrangement.
Tigran Sargsyan made appoint of striking prospective ties in the field of information technologies. The Premier invited Finnish companies to come to Armenia and establish relations with the local and international operators involved in Armenia.
The Ambassador briefed Tigran Sargsyan on his country’s current economic position and past experience. Christer Mikhelson said that Finland is ready to share its wealth of experience and contribute to Armenia’s economic development.
Reference was also made of EU-supported Armenia reforms, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other issues of topical interest.
