Farewell Meeting With Swiss Ambassador
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received outgoing Swiss ambassador Constantine Obolensky.
Hailing the Ambassador’s contribution to the development of the Armenian-Swiss relations, the Premier noted in part, “A solid basis has been built up over the past few years for the expansion and deepening of bilateral ties. We appreciate the Swiss model of development and attach great importance to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.”
In this context, the importance of the ongoing rural community and livestock development programs in Syunik Marz was emphasized on either side.
The Ambassador advised that the Swiss government has made available USD8mn under this program this year as compared to last year’s 4 million.
Stressing the need for furthering economic exchanges, Constantine Obolensky expressed hope that the newly established Swiss-Armenian chamber of commerce will add a momentum the trade turnover between the two countries.
Thanking the Ambassador for those numerous projects implemented in Armenia, the Prime Minister wished him every success in his future activities.
