Armenian Development Agency Tables Annual Report For 2012
Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, “Armenian Development Agency" Closed Joint-Stock Company held a regular board meeting in the Office of Government.
The meeting discussed the Agency’s annual report for 2012. ADA Executive Director Robert Harutyunyan spoke about the efforts aimed at promoting exports and attracting investments. With reference to the ongoing projects, he said that in 2012 foreign direct investment amounted to around AMD10 billion (construction, high technologies, biotechnologies etc.), exports rose to about AMD4.5 billion (alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages etc.). International business conferences and exhibitions were organized in addition to technical assistance activities carried out in the period under review.
The Board next discussed the Agency’s program for 2013, which according to the Director General, tunes with the government’s strategy of export-oriented industrial policy in 2013 (high technologies, pharmaceuticals, biotechnologies, agriculture, food processing etc.).
The meeting agenda featured items related to organizational and structural changes. The Premier instructed to discuss them with the Ministry of Economy and submit proposals for further discussion.
In accordance with Tigran Sargsyan's decision, on 50th birthday anniversary and for significant contribution to the development of light industry, as well as numerous achievements, “Tosp" company CEO Suren Bekirsky was presented with a commemorative medal on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
