PM Attends Festive Reception On Russia Day
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended a Russia Day-dedicated festive reception in the Government Reception House.
Congratulating the participants on behalf of his government and himself, the Prime Minister wished peace and happiness to the brotherly people of Russia.
“Abiding by a nice tradition, this day every year we come together in a close circle of friends to celebrate a newborn but important holiday, associated with landmark events in modern Russia’s history. Our peoples made a historical choice in favor of civil society, democratic institutions and country modernization. For this very reason, this holiday is associated with the fundamental transformations that took place in Russia’s political, economic and spiritual life, marked by the building of a new-type modern country. Russia Day unites all the citizens of this country, different generations and a range of national cultures. It is the day of those citizens well aware that the country’s success depends on their own efforts.
I would like to stress that over the past two decades not only did we manage to preserve the centuries-old ties of fraternity and friendship, but we also were able to strengthen the groundwork on which the Armenian-Russian relations are developing at the level of strategic partnership. It is also important that our relations keep expanding from year to year owing to new initiatives implemented in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. The progressive pace of our relationship is fostered not only by high-level dialogue and mutual trust, but also by the citizens’ initiatives and proposals,” Tigran Sargsyan concluded.
The head of government expressed confidence that having broad-base public support, the two countries will be able to further strengthen the partnership through joint effort. As an important prerequisite for progress, he stressed the need for achieving lasting peace and stability in our region.
