Scientific-Technical Council Holds Meeting
Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Scientific-Technical Council held a regular meeting in the Office of Government.
The meeting first reviewed the results of the tenders invited in applied sciences. 10 successful projects were said to have been picked out by the jury, 4 of which are eligible for application in the public sector. The Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Economy to make efforts toward the commercialization of those projects.
As to the signing of a memorandum on Armenia’s participation in the EU Scientific-Technological and Innovations Development “Horizon - 2020” program, as well as on scientific cooperation with the European Union, the Ministry of Economy was directed to continue negotiating with the European partners.
The Council discussed the launch of a center for commercialization of research activities, and the legal aspects of seismic reinforcement of residential buildings in Armenia. The agencies concerned were instructed to follow up the discussions and submit relevant proposals.
The meeting next discussed and approved a program for involvement of young researchers in scientific projects, which is going to be submitted to the Government for approval.
